About Us

Paul Getty (1892-1976) is labeled as one world’s richest men during his lifetime. He amassed his fortune from buying and selling oil leases. When asked what it took to be successful he said, “My formula for success is rise early, work late and strike oil.” Oil Rig Coffee whole heartedly believes in this formula for success. So much so, we have adopted the variation of “Rise Early, Drink Coffee, Strike Oil” as our motto. We celebrate the hard work and dedication of the men and women in the oil industry. Their hard work has helped pave the way for innovation across the globe.

J. Paul Getty also stated that, “No one can possibly achieve any real and lasting success or 'get rich' in business by being a conformist.” That mindset is reflected in every roasted coffee blend that bears our name. You’re not going to get the same watered down, bitter, or bland coffee in a cup of Oil Rig Coffee. We have ensured that every blend has been crafted with the detail and passion that every Roughneck, Roustabout, or Mud Logger would enjoy.

Over the years, I have seen us bombarded with subpar coffee. Coffee that was not produced for quality, but produced at the cheapest expense for the coffee conglomerates. The standard coffee at the grocery store is usually produced with the lowest quality bean, and most times, using non-environmental friendly farming methods.

To put it bluntly, I grew tired of poor tasting coffee. Even the high-end gourmet brands that promised eco-friendly beans, left a bitter and nauseating taste in my mouth. That is why I formed Oil Rig Coffee Company, to find and share the best tasting coffee with the world.

After tasting hundreds, if not thousands of cups of coffee from various roasters; after tweaking the blend.....and then doing it all over again to be sure; I finally have blends that that deliver the best tasting coffee. If you are looking for cheap, bland coffee, we are not the coffee company for you. Sure we could have gone with a cheap robusta coffee, promising a quick high of caffeine. We could have gone with cheap packaging, all to save a buck. Nope, not us.

Oxygen is good for us, but bad for coffee. Our bags feature a resealable zipper seal to ensure that you can always have the freshest coffee. Our beans are produced from an assortment of farms across the globe, whose sole goal is to grow the perfect bean. Our roaster has had years of experience crafting coffee blends that even those with the strictest of palates can find no fault.
